8 people including the driver were killed when a Scorpio crashed on the Dhansar-Lamaha section of East-West Highway in Rautahat's Chandrapur Municipality on Tuesday morning. 4 people including children are injured.

DSP Rajkumar Rai of the area police office Chandranigahpur has informed that the accident happened when the Scorpio No. 16 Ch 3162 went out of control and crashed into a tree on the right side of the road.

A team including DSP Rai immediately arrived at the scene. According to the police, 60-year-old Phulmanti Ram of rural municipality-3 in Siraha Arna died during treatment. Similarly, the 45-year-old Scorpio driver, whose name has not been released, also died during treatment. The injured, including two children, are being treated at the trauma center in Chandranigahpur. DSP Rai informed that one person has been referred to Birgunj for further treatment. The police say that identification will be done only after the families of the deceased come.
