CPN-UML Deputy General Secretary Pradeep Gyawali has said that the republic is the best system in every way. He says that in the past, even after the movement, when the monarchy was given space, it attacked the democracy and became autocratic.
On the occasion of the 74th Liberation Day, in a program organized by Ram Prasad Rai Memorial Foundation in Kathmandu on Monday, UML Deputy Secretary General Gyawali said that monarchy and democracy cannot go together .
What Nepali history has shown is that monarchy and democracy cannot go together. Twice the Nepali people fled to Delhi with such a generous heart, even if the king was returned and placed on the throne, and it would have been in a state of complete defeat, and you would have been respected . "It will cost a little more to raise a white elephant than in Madan Bhandari's language. It is not a problem, but even after making an agreement that the rights of the people should not be ignored, after he reached the old situation, we have come to the conclusion that monarchy and democracy cannot move forward together," Gyawali said. After sitting on the throne as the inevitable destiny of monarchy, he tries to be autocratic, he tries to attack democracy, one day he will bite democracy. With the conclusion that we have reached the republic and we are proud of it.'
Gyawali said that the republic is the best system even though it cannot fulfill all the people's wishes. "The republic may not have been able to deliver as it said". Due to some characters, the governance system that should have happened may not have happened. The work may not have been done according to the expectations of the people, but in fact, the republic is the best system in every way and it is the duty of all of us to make it successful and protect it,' he said.
Deputy Secretary General Gyawali said that it is necessary to advance the government's activities with the certainty that the people will get the benefits of the revolution.
