Ravi Lamichhane, chairman of Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA), who is in police custody for crimes related to cooperative fraud, organized crime and money laundering, has been taken to Birgunj for investigation. Lamichhane was taken from Pokhara to Simra via Kathmandu on Monday and from there to Birgunj by car.
Along with Lamichhane, former DIG Chabilal Joshi, another operator of Gorkha Media Network, was taken to Birgunj from Pokhara by road, police said. They are accused of misappropriating the money of the savers of Sanopyla Savings and Credit Cooperative in Birgunj. Earlier, the Kaski District Court had extended the deadline of 4 days on Sunday to investigate Lamichhane and Jaeshi .
Lamichhane was arrested on November 2 from the central office of RASWP in Kathmandu and brought to Kaski. For the investigation of Lamichhane, 6 days have been extended, then 7 days, 10 days, 13 days, 15 days and 4 days on Sunday.
