Chairman of Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the time has come to change the political course.
Inaugurating the second session of the Maoist Center Gorkha-Kathmandu Liaison Coordination Committee here on Saturday, he opined that the political party can be changed only by changing the form of government and electoral system.
President Dahal said that the people's republic that his party is raising can be strengthened only by going to the government system where the executive head is directly elected, the full proportional election system and the system where experts become ministers instead of MPs. Mentioning that the process of unity has started by stopping the series of
divisions, he insisted that workers and people will not be stopped by any group or leader. Chairman Dahal said that the unity between the powers divided in different streams should be brought together.
Likewise, he praised Gorkha district for its leading role in the ideological and physical defense of the party leadership from the preparation of the people's war to the last. President Dahal said that when there was despair all over the country, he made a new history by winning nine local levels in the year 2079 and in the recently held by-elections where he had previously lost.
