The Department of Water and Meteorology has informed that the weather will change from Sunday evening. The department issued a special winter weather bulletin and informed that due to the western low pressure system coming along with the westerly winds, there is a possibility of partial to normal rain in many places of Nepal from Sunday evening.
Due to the effect of this system, there is a possibility of light to moderate snowfall from Sunday evening to Monday night in many places of high hilly and Himalayan areas of Sudurpaschim Province and Karnali Province and in few places of high hilly and Himalayan areas of Gandaki Province, Bagmati Province and Koshi Province.
In addition, the department informed that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some places of Sudurpaschim Province, Karnali Province and Lumbini Province, a few places in Gandaki Province and one or two places in the hilly areas of Bagmati Province and Koshi Province. Also, due to the effect of the said weather system, there is a possibility that the temperature will also drop and the cold may increase. In the special bulletin issued by
, it is said, 'Due to rain, snow and cold, daily life, health, mountain climbing and air transport may be affected, so the general public and all concerned agencies are requested to take necessary precautions.' The Meteorological Department is monitoring this system. It is said that the three-day weather forecast bulletin issued daily by this department will be updated accordingly.
According to the weather forecast division of the department, the weather will be mostly clear in the hilly areas of the country tonight. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall at one or two places in the highlands and Himalayan areas of Koshi Province and Gandaki Province.
