The Election Commission has decided to start the registration of names in the electoral roll from all state and district election offices from Sunday.
Earlier, the registration of voter's list, which is being done regularly across the country for the purpose of local level by-elections, was postponed, as the by-election has been completed and the results have been received, the commission said that the registration and updating of the regular voter's list is about to start.
Even if a person lives in a district different from his permanent address due to profession, business or any other reason, if he applies for the registration of his name in the voter's list with necessary proofs, he can register the voter's list even from outside the district so that he remains at his permanent address. .
The commission said that a certificate of Nepali citizenship is required for registration in the voters' list. In order to register the voter's list at an address different from the address mentioned in the citizenship, a certificate of citizenship, immigration or marriage registration must be submitted. According to Nita Pokharel Aryal, Co-Secretary and Spokesperson of the Commission, it is now possible to correct errors in the voter list, remove duplicate names, and update the details of death and migration.
