31 professors have applied to the selection and recommendation committee to become the vice-chancellor of Sanskrit, Agriculture and Forestry and Pokhara University. The Chancellor's Office formed a committee for the appointment of the Vice-Chancellor and issued a procedure for the appointment on the basis of competition and asked for applications.

A separate committee has also been formed for that. The recommendation of 13 applications including Virendra Kumar Lal, Bhagwat Dhakal, Guruprasad Subedi, Bhimprasad Khatiwada, Lekhprasad Niraula, Rishiram Regmi, Dhaneshwar Nepal, Krishnakant Parajuli, Shantikrishna Adhikari, Jayant Acharya, Lalamani Pandey, Kartikeya Jha and Navraj Kattel to become the Vice Chancellor of Sanskrit University and The selection committee said.

Similarly, agriculture  And 6 people including Arjan Kumar Shrestha, Kalyani Mishra Tripathi, Puskar Bahadur Pal, Balram Kumar Bhatt, Sharda Thapalia and Hom Bahadur Basnet have applied for the position of Vice Chancellor of Forestry University.

Similarly, the committee said that 12 people have applied to become the vice-chancellor of Pokhara University. Bedraj KC, Deepak Bahadur Bhandari, Dnyaneshwar Sharma, Vishwaraj Adhikari, Kedarnath Ghimire, Pushparaj Sharma, Saroj Koirala, Nirmala Jammarkattel, Bishnuraj Tiwari, Vinaykumar Mishra, Tekraj Gyawali and Deepakraj Paudel have applied, the committee said. The committee has set the date of the interview along with the presentation of the thinking paper and action plan of the applicants and proceeded with the appointment process. There is a provision that the recommendation committee will recommend 3/3 names and the Chancellor and the Prime Minister will appoint 1/1 of them to the university.

In the procedure issued for the selection of the vice chancellor in the competition in these universities, there has been criticism that the points awarded by the committee are more based on the merits. The maximum 25 marks have been kept in the interview for the appointment of the vice-chancellor of this university out of 100 marks. The professors have been expressing their displeasure saying that the committee will recommend the vice-chancellor by giving more marks in the interview to their preferred candidates. Previously, the highest number of marks in the selection of the vice-chancellor of the Midwest University was kept for research.
