Industry, Commerce and Supply Minister Damodar Bhandari, who is on an official visit to India, and his counterpart Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Minister Prahlad Joshi held a meeting in New Delhi on Wednesday evening.

During the meeting at Minister Joshi's office in New Delhi, the two ministers discussed issues of bilateral interest, including Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) certification of Nepali companies and facilitating the import of renewable and essential food items such as wheat, rice and sugar. 

Minister Bhandari is drawing the attention of Minister Joshi to facilitate the import of essential goods from India to Nepal.

Similarly, Minister Bhandari drew the attention of his counterpart Joshi regarding the facilitation and marketing of Nepalese manufactured goods in India. It is said that there was also a discussion on necessary cooperation between the Bureau of Indian Standards and the Nepal Quality and Weights and Measures Department.
