Historian Purushottam Shamsher Jabra passed away. Rana died on Thursday while undergoing treatment at Nepal Medicity Hospital in Lalitpur. He was 99 years old.

Anita Shrestha, information officer of the hospital, informed Kantipur that he died at 12:30 noon on Thursday while undergoing treatment. According to doctors, Rana was suffering from kidney disease for a long time.

He was admitted to the hospital on Wednesday after having problems with his blood pressure. Rana's 'Sri 3's Facts' (Three Parts), 'Rana's Major Historical Palaces', 'Remembered and Heard Things', 'Been and Past Events', 'Hidden Talents', 'Memories of My Life',  ' Books such as Jung Bahadur and Rana Kaline Darpan' have been published.

Rana was born on 15th of Chaitra in 1982 in Charburja Darbar (currently Election Commission building) in Kathmandu. Rana is the grandson of Rudra Shamsher and the son of Ishwar Shamsher . Purushottam was only 8 years old when Judd Shamsher killed his grandfather Rudra Shamsher. He learned to read and write in Palpa Palace. He has obtained higher education from Banaras Hindu University .
