Development without prior planning cannot give good returns: Former Prime Minister of Nepal

CPN Unified Samajwadi Party Chairman and former Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal has said that development without prior planning cannot give good returns to the people.

Nepal said this while addressing Naresh Sarraf second memorial meeting and journalism award distribution program organized by Samajwadi Press Organization in Birganj on Sunday. "The needs of the people should be prioritized and development works should be carried forward," he said, "the government should also be serious about this."

Nepal said that the country's development would also be based on prioritization. "The main strength of our country is agriculture, so if agriculture can be modernized, the country could be advanced on the path of prosperity," he said, "It is necessary to develop tourism and hydropower as sectors that make the country viable."

He also pointed out that it is necessary to improve the livelihood of the people through the agricultural sector by commercializing and mechanizing agriculture. He also said that instead of establishing small health posts in places where the government of Nepal can be reached within an hour, it would be more effective to provide services through hospitals with facilities and skilled doctors.  At the

ceremony, President Nepal presented the second Naresh Sarraf Memorial Journalism Award with 21,000 cash to Birganj journalist Manoj Kumar Patel. Journalist Sarraf died of heart attack 2 years ago. On the day of his memorial day, the Samajwadi Press organization Parsa has been awarding a journalist who has been doing journalism by making Birganj a work place.
