Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba has said that the Chinese government is positive to advance the projects under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) in Nepal as a subsidy.
Foreign Minister Rana, who returned on Saturday after her visit to China, said that China is positive to advance the plans under the BRI project in the form of grants.
Stating that Nepal has made it clear to the Chinese side that due to the situation in the country, Nepal is not in a position to take a loan, she said that during the visit, there was a discussion about strengthening the mutual relations between the two countries and how to continue the ongoing work. She informed that they have discussed about advancing the relationship between the two countries in the direction of increasing trade, investment, international transport network, economic and social partnership.
'Most of the discussion was on how to advance the mutual relations between the two countries, how to continue the ongoing work . It was our opinion that our relationship should be focused on the direction of increasing trade, investment, international transport network, economic and social partnership. He said that he would support the independence of Nepal and support independence. We have also committed to support the One China policy,' Foreign Minister Rana said, 'There is a Trans Himalayan Multi-Dimensional Connectivity Network, many consultations were held about Nepal. There was talk of taking it forward . We said that we should renew about the projects of the visits of the past prime ministers and foreign ministers in various dimensions. They took it positively.'
Rana said that China has also asked Nepal to do its internal homework. "We will also discuss which projects to support," he said. We stated that we are not in a position to take a loan from Nepal, we are hoping to receive a grant from you.
