The 33rd international 16-day campaign against gender-based violence is starting from Monday, November 25, with the national slogan 'Commitment of all of us: campaign to end gender-based violence'.
Organizations such as Women Rehabilitation Center (OREC) Nepal, National Campaign for Women's Rights (NCWR), National Network of Women Human Rights Defenders (NWRD), Tarangini Foundation, ExAid, Informal Sector Service Center (INSEC), CARE Nepal, Mukti Nepal, etc. The participants of the jointly organized program were of the opinion that women affected by violence lack access to justice and that it is necessary to increase their access to justice.
Sunita Mainali, the executive director of Orek Nepal, said that although there is a separate provision for women's rights in Nepal's constitution, there is still no reduction in violence against women. During the
campaign, attention will be drawn to the implementation of women's rights under the Constitution of Nepal 2072 and Article 38 of the Constitution, and the effective implementation of laws and commitments made by the state at the international level.
Similarly, the demands of the campaign include the immediate cancellation of all kinds of discriminatory policies, practices and values and the need to conduct a campaign from the community level to the national level for social transformation. During the 16-day campaign,
government and non-governmental organizations will hold a symbolic drama exhibition about the discrimination and violence against women and girls, a large gathering with the public and interested parties, and a conference on the violence.
