The Election Commission has instructed not to use more than 10 flags and election symbols during election campaigning.
Indicating that the commission has drawn attention to the sporadic incidents of violations of the code of conduct during the by-election campaign, the commission has instructed not to vary the shape, size, and color of flags and campaign materials, pamphlets, and signboards. The Commission has also informed not to put any kind of digital board, flex or glue signboard and not to play audio material and display audio-visual material for the purpose of
propaganda.
Nita Pokharel Aryal, the spokesperson of the commission informed that the election officer or monitor and the local administration have been instructed to take immediate action if the code of conduct is violated. The code of conduct for elections has been implemented from 10th till the end of the elections.
The commission has implemented various mechanisms for the effective implementation of the said code of conduct.
Ballot sample public
Commission has released the sample ballots required for the local by-elections. Based on the number of candidates, the commission's spokesperson Pokharel informed that the ballot paper was prepared by including only the election marks obtained by the political parties and independent candidates.
According to the approved design, there are separate ballots for each post. According to the commission, political parties and candidates can conduct propaganda and voter education campaign on the basis of the sample ballot paper.
