The ruling Congress General Minister Gagan Kumar Thapa has said that the Congress has been insisting on the implementation of the agreements made with China in the past.

He said that the Congress is also positive about advancing the BRI project in Nepal by having a common opinion with the UML. However, he said that they insist on implementing the agreements made with China in the past before the implementation of the BRI agreement.

Speaking at an event held in Kathmandu on Wednesday, General Minister Thapa said that it is his position that the programs and plans agreed upon in the past should be completed before signing the BRI implementation agreement with China. He mentioned that there was a difference of opinion with the UML in this regard and said that they are capable of handling it and moving forward.

He said, 'Now we are hearing a wide discussion outside. After some time, the Prime Minister will visit China. There is a wide disagreement between the Congress and the CPN-UML regarding this issue. You write that you have friends, it fell, it fell. I feel that even the people sitting in the government are going to fall. But I think we should be able to keep this ability. If we have the ability to make a constitution, we should have the ability to make it common, even if we have different approaches to some of these issues. We have some things in common. The constitution itself has arranged how Nepal will have relations with other countries. Our party policies bind us. We are parties that have a long legacy of dealing with national interests. We have our limits. But we also recognize that our priorities may differ.'

He said that the Congress wants to have equal relations with all countries and that they are committed to apply the same thing to China as well.

'Military alliance of any country is not in the interest of Nepal. That's why it doesn't belong to any country. We want to come to Nepal with huge capital. We have so much aspirations for our development that we need a lot of resources and means. We want to bring But we think that it should be matched with our national capacity today. How much capital do we have today? Accordingly, we want to cooperate with all the neighbors at this time,' he said.
