Foreign Minister Dr. Arju Rana Deuba has requested the ministries, departments and officials related to the sports and adventure sports sector of the Nepal government to provide necessary support for the development and expansion of sports diplomacy.

In the high-level consultation meeting on adventure sports held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, she urged the related officers and agencies to go towards it as there is a lot of potential for the development and expansion of sports diplomacy through adventure sports. 

Now, as the attraction and importance of sports is increasing globally, he said that Nepal can advance its diplomatic efforts and initiatives through sports as well as other fields. She said, 'The mountains, hills, rivers and streams of Nepal are world famous for adventure tourism. Therefore, we can develop and expand sports diplomacy through adventure games by attracting world tourists to this area. For that, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Nepal should work in a coordinated manner.'

In the third conference of ACDI (ASEAN Cooperation Dialogue) held in Doha, Qatar last October, sports diplomacy was kept as a major topic and as Nepal also expressed its commitment to promote sports diplomacy, a meeting was held today with the relevant ministries and agencies to discuss and consult on this matter. . 

Minister Dr. Rana said that the interest of tourists from all over the world in adventure sports such as mountaineering, rafting etc. is increasing in Nepal and as training and courses are also arranged in these areas, it is possible to bring in tourists and make a great contribution in the field of economic diplomacy. She was of the opinion that sports should be developed as a means of promoting cultural identity, and because of Nepal's geographical location and natural resources, it is necessary to expose the potential of adventure sports here to the world.
