The legislative session of the Baburam Bhattarai-led Nepal Samajwadi Party held in Pokhara has decided to add 'New Power' after the name of the party. The convention has decided to hold a convention in Kathmandu on January 25, 26 and 27. It is arranged that each party member will vote directly in the convention.

Legislation  The party's name and flag have also been changed since the convention. Party leader Manusi Yami Bhattarai informed that the name and flag were unanimously passed by the legislative representatives.  The

convention has passed the system of having 99 members of the party's central committee and 11 members of officials. In which there will be 1 president, 5 vice presidents (1 woman, 1 tribal, 1 Madhesi, 1 Khasaarya, 1 Dalit), 1 general secretary, 3 secretaries, 1 treasurer.  The election committee will have 33 members. The system of selecting leadership through direct election system has been adopted at all levels. Youth leadership in the party is 40 percent at the local level, 30 percent at the provincial level and 20 percent at the center. Likewise, provision for 33 percent of women officials in all committees has also been made in the statute.
