The government has decided to hand over the Sadar Zoo at Jawalakhel to the National Nature Conservation Fund.
Government Spokesperson and Minister of Communication and Information Technology Prithbisubba Gurung informed that the cabinet meeting held on Friday decided to hand over the zoo to the National Nature Conservation Fund, which is handling the management of Sadar Zoo.
In 1932, the then Prime Minister Juddhashamser Jabara established the zoo. That zoo later expanded and became Sadar Zoo. The government had given the responsibility of managing the zoo to the Nature Conservation Fund for 30 years from 2052. After the end of that period, the government has decided to hand over the zoo management fund.
