Foreign Minister Arju Rana Deuba has instructed the Nepalese embassies there to keep 'updated' after receiving information about the situation of Nepalis in Israel and Lebanon.
On Sunday, she held a virtual meeting with the Nepali ambassadors in those countries from the ministry and got information about the latest situation in Israel and Lebanon.
In that meeting, Minister Rana instructed to stay in touch with them and provide necessary support as there is growing concern in Nepal about the situation of Nepalis who are there especially in Lebanon recently.
Minister Rana said, 'Try to get in touch with all the Nepalis who are there in any way, if anyone wants help to return home immediately, coordinate for that and if there is a situation where Nepali citizens have to be rescued and brought home, then do the necessary homework for that.  ;.'
Minister Rana issued a notice to the embassies of the respective countries and instructed them to appoint contact persons and to provide necessary assistance and coordination to the Nepalese who are in trouble by setting up 'helpdesks' as needed. Sushil Lamsal, the Nepalese ambassador to Egypt, while informing about the latest situation in Lebanon, said that the Nepalis there are not facing any such problem now.
It is estimated that there are currently around 1,200 Nepalese and most of them are working in the household, he said that based on the information issued by the embassy, only three people have been contacted and they are also safe in Beirut.
Currently, no Nepali has reported that they have a problem, but he also said that his relatives in Nepal are more worried.
Nepalese Acting Ambassador to Israel Kumar Shrestha said that the situation in Israel is normal and about 4,500 Nepalis are safe. On that occasion, Tapas Adhikari, the Nepalese ambassador to Pakistan, informed about the latest situation in Iran.
