Milan KC, a colonel of the Nepali Army who had visited Sindhupalchok, died on Saturday after being buried in a landslide that came from the Sindhu Beach Resort near Bimareni Jungle in Sunkoshi Rural Municipality-4. He was buried while trying to save the Korean citizens who were traveling with KC working at the Military Academy Kharipati.
A 36-year-old KC resident of Dolakha Bhimeshwar municipality died shortly after being rescued from the landslide. Korean citizens are also said to have been buried in the same landslide, but the exact situation is not known .
Colonel Casey went to safety after a small landslide from above. But when the Koreans went to call because the Koreans were sleeping, KC and the Koreans were buried . When he was rescued from the buried place, he did not even agree to be carried saying that he would walk by himself. Casey, who walked by himself, had injuries on his body . Locals who were involved in rescuing the fallen said that it became difficult after a while. KC, who was promoted to colonel a few months ago, has been selected for the Syria mission, said Gaurav Kumar KC, spokesperson of the Nepali Army.
There are two Korean friends, one is buried and one is safe . The state of the burial is unknown. Umesh Pandey, Police Inspector of District Police Office Bahrbise, said that although he received information that the buried citizen was Korean, he could not say for sure until the body was found. The landslide occurred when the Korean citizens who were safe went to order food at the resort's kitchen as it was early in the morning. The landslide occurred around 10 am.
When Colonel Casey went to Korea, he took the Korean citizens he met and knew when he came to Nepal to visit them. The resort on the banks of the Sunkoshi River has a forest that cannot be predicted by landslides.
According to Sindhupalchok Police Chief (SP) Santosh Khadka, the bodies of both Colonel KC and the driver of the Korean car have been kept at Bahrbise Primary Health Center. According to sources, KC's body has been prepared to be brought to Kathmandu Teaching Hospital Maharajganj by an army helicopter for post-mortem.
