The Home Minister Ramesh Akhtar has said that those who were on the roof of a terrace near the Nakkhu River in Lalitpur could not be rescued by helicopter. He said that due to visibility, they could not be rescued by helicopter and rescue efforts by land route also failed.

After the meeting held at the Singh Darbar of the command post of the Government of Nepal, the Home Minister has informed about the incident in Nakhkhu. "In Nakhkhu River, some people were sitting on the roof of the tower, but we could not save them even though we tried". We could not save people . To rescue by flying a helicopter, we could not save by flying a helicopter due to visibility,' said the writer.
