Communication and Information Technology Minister Puthwisubba Gurung has said that historical, religious, cultural, economic and social relations between Nepal and China have been existing for centuries. At the 3rd China-Nepal Media Summit organized by South Asia Network Television here on Thursday, he said that although formal diplomatic relations between Nepal and China started in 1955, the relationship between the two countries has been going on for centuries.

He said, 'Today, our relationship has been strengthened based on the principle of equality, sovereignty and mutual benefit. From cooperation in the fields of infrastructure and technology to cultural and educational exchanges, our relationship continues to expand in various fields.'

Minister Gurung mentioned that the heads of state and high-level visits of the two countries are taking place regularly from time to time to further enhance the relationship between the two countries and said that this type of visit is further developing the centuries-old friendly relationship between Nepal and China.
