Chairman of CPN (Maoist Center) and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has said that the importance of declaring Nepal a peace zone is increasing.
Understanding the memorandum of peace zone campaign formed from the people's level, he said that it is time to advance the proposal of peace zone to maintain national independence while protecting Nepal from the grip of world politics which is becoming confrontational.
Chairman Dahal said that the peace zone proposal could be an important 'agenda' to save the country. "During the Panchayat period yesterday, due to the political situation at that time, there were votes for and against it, no party was in a position to support it," former Prime Minister Dahal said, "but now the importance of declaring a peace zone for the protection of national independence is increasing in the changed political situation and the world situation."
Chairman Dahal said that preparations are being made for a discussion within the party about the declaration of a peace zone for Nepal.
He also informed that since they are preparing for the Central Committee meeting, if it is the same, it can be taken as a proposal from this meeting as well. Chairman Dahal mentioned that it is necessary to move this area forward as a peace area by making Lumbini the center of world peace as the main base and said that it is positive that the debate is started from the people's level.
He expressed his commitment to support this campaign on behalf of his party.
