Rajesh Hamal, who is now in the second half of his career after a long and busy journey of acting, was seen at the Kathmandu Calling Literary Festival held at Hotel Himalaya in Lalitpur on Sunday.

Questions were asked about Hamal's understanding of politics and his future involvement. "The audience expects me to join politics," Hamal explained, adding, "This is the irony of our nation." The people who are engaged in politics are disappointed even though there is not much work from them.''

'If the society sees people doing well in various professions, they would have expected that they would have joined politics,' actor Hamal added, 'Politics is the backbone of the country. If the spine does not work, other parts of the body will not work either. Our politics has also become the same.'

Hamal, who is about to return to acting after a gap of seven years with the film 'Narasimha', said that now he feels as if he is about to work in his first film. I had decided to work in movies only according to the taste and desire of the audience, now I am going to erase the gap of 7 years. Sometimes it feels as if I am going to do my first film. In an interview with journalist Rupesh Shrestha, actor Hamal also narrated his past stories since he started working in films.

Similarly, in the next session on 'Rangmanchma Pustaantaran', there was an interaction between three artists of the new generation, Akanksha Karki, Anil Subba and Saraswati Chaudhary. Commenting on the lack of discipline and passion in the theater recently, Akanksha said, "Since the young generation is migrating abroad, it has had a direct impact on the drama as well."

Similarly, Subba expressed his happiness that the theater sector is trying to become professional in recent times and argued that generations should be handed down in every sector. Chaudhary told the bitter experience of not appreciating the work done by the disciples, 'We respect the Guru a lot, but our work is not appreciated.''Anil said, 'I am after the tribal story.' I'm going I guess I'll have to find a story in my time. I have been researching tribal stories since 1972.'

Similarly, in the next session of the festival, in the discussion about 'mainstream media and new media', Umesh Chauhan, editor-in-chief of Kantipur Dainik, said that the question raised by the media and its influence was the main topic. He said, 'There is an impression of 'mainstream and new media', but mainly questions and effects make the media mainstream. So we have to look at the question and the impact.' Chauhan said that the social media has added pressure on the mainstream media and said, 'The media will be long-term only if it can change with the times.

journalist Vinu Subedi said that the media should not be divided into mainstream and new media. She said, 'The media is based on issues. The media that is raising the issue today is the mainstream and new media.'

Journalist Dilbhushan Pathak argued that there has been a flood of 'fake news' with the advent of new media and said, 'You should not allow it to be loose in the name of freedom. It should also be controlled. Society cannot be misled in the name of information.'
