US Deputy Secretary of State for Management and Resources Richard R Burma, who is on a visit to Nepal, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli on Friday.
In the meeting held at the office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singh Darbar, issues of bilateral relations and mutual interests were discussed. He expressed his gratitude for the continuous support of the American government in the field of economic and social development of Nepal since 1950.
Prime Minister Oli expected support in various areas of Nepal's development. Prime Minister Oli also informed that Nepal is in the process of becoming an underdeveloped country by 2026 and the matter of Nepal's transitional justice law is in the process of being finalized based on political consensus.
Meanwhile, Deputy Minister Burma recalled the 77 years of bilateral relations between the two countries and said that it is a matter of happiness for America to be a partner in the development of Nepal. He congratulated Nepal on the finalization of transitional justice. On the occasion of the
meeting, Prime Minister's Chief Advisor Bishnu Prasad Rimal, Principal Private Secretary Rajesh Bajracharya, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and others participated.
