A foreign national was arrested at Tribhuvan International Airport with the banned drug cocaine. Ivars Valtars, a citizen of Latvia who came to Nepal on Wednesday by Qatar Airways flight, was arrested by the joint team of Nepal Police's Narcotics Control Bureau and Tribhuvan Airport Customs Office with 6 kg 24 grams of cocaine.
The police have informed that the Nepali market value of recovered cocaine is more than 21 million 8 million rupees. Bureau chief SSP Dinesh Acharya said that further investigation is underway on the arrested person. Ansari gave a statement taken from a Nigerian citizen, Ikechukwakiril Obodoifula, who was staying at a hotel in Pingalasthan. After that, the 44-year-old Nigerian citizen also gave a statement that he brought cocaine with him while coming to Nepal via Qatar Airways.
