Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has said that the Nepal-India border issue will be resolved through dialogue and diplomacy. Answering the question of MP Deepak Bahadur Singh at the meeting of the House of Representatives on Monday, Prime Minister Oli said that the border issue will be resolved based on historical facts and evidence.
MP Singh questioned when will the land of Lipulek, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura of Darchula included in the Chuchche map be occupied by Nepal .
In response, Prime Minister Oli said, 'Nepal government's continuous stance and commitment to resolve the border problem through negotiations and diplomacy with the Indian government on the basis of the Sugauli Treaty, various maps, historical facts and evidence. I would like to make it clear that our active initiative will be accordingly.'
Prime Minister Oli also said that the government is clear about Nepal's international borders.
'Regarding the international border of Nepal, the Federal Parliament, the Government of Nepal and all Nepali people have been clear and firm . Through the second amendment of the Constitution of Nepal dated 4 June 2077, the new map was included in Schedule-3 of the Constitution and there is an unprecedented national agreement between us on border issues,' Oli said, 'According to the Sugauli Treaty, 1816, Kali (Mahakali) including Limpiyadhura, Kalapani and Lipulek The government of Nepal is firm and clear that all the land east of the river belongs to Nepal. In the meeting between the Prime Ministers of Nepal and India on the occasion of high-level visits, there has been an agreement to move forward to resolve the border issues through established diplomatic mechanisms.
Prime Minister Oli said that in the seventh meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission held on 19 December 2080, the issue of the border was also discussed and the commitment was expressed to complete the remaining sections of the Nepal-India border as soon as possible.
Similarly, the Prime Minister informed that the construction, rehabilitation and maintenance of border pillars as well as the preparation of dash-gaja and cross-holding are being carried out continuously by the Nepal-India border working group.
