China's Deputy Foreign Minister Sun Weitong, who is visiting Nepal, has paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal. Bilateral interests, mutual interest and cooperation were discussed in the meeting held on Monday at Singha Durbar.

On the occasion of the meeting, Prime Minister Dahal expressed his happiness over the assistance provided by China in the economic and social development of Nepal. He mentioned that in the future, Nepal aims to be upgraded from a least developed country in 2026, and said that China's support is needed to make it successful.

Deputy Foreign Minister of the People's Republic of China Sun informed that China has decided to celebrate 'Visit Nepal-2025' with the aim of promoting Nepal's tourism and encouraging Chinese tourists to visit Nepal on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-China diplomatic relations in 2025. He expressed the commitment that China will continue to support the economic and social development of Nepal.

Deputy Foreign Minister Sun came to Nepal on Monday to participate in the 16th meeting of the Nepal-China Diplomatic Consultation Mechanism. On behalf of Nepal, Prime Minister's Foreign Affairs Adviser Rupak Sapkota, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were present in the

meeting. Similarly, Chinese ambassador to Nepal Chen Song and other high officials participated on behalf of China.
