Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Physical Infrastructure and Transport Raghuveer Mahaseth has said that the activities of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City in the New Road area are not in accordance with the law. Responding to the media after the House of Representatives meeting on Sunday, Minister Mahaseth said that the activities of the Kathmandu Metropolitan City in New Road are not legal.

He said, 'We are advising on the manner in which the Kathmandu Metropolitan City is currently performing its activities. The vandalism that is going on in New Road now, and the road department has stopped it. I personally took the matter of Kalanki to Maharajganj as a suggestion. Thanks to him for the advice. I have no objection. I took it positively. The government must make it. I did not take it otherwise. The activities in New Road are not legal. He also said that the road department has stopped the vandalism in New Road.

He also said that there is no truth in what Kathmandu Metropolitan City Mayor Balen Sah wrote on his Facebook status.

On Saturday, Mayor Sah addressed Minister Mahaseth and wrote that in the name of ring road expansion from Kalanki to Maharajgunj, the people of the city had to bear a lot of dust and hardship. He posted a video of garbage placed in front of the road department office saying that he will send a truckload of dust as a gift to the place where the work is not carried forward. Responding to this, Minister Mahaseth said that he took Mayor Shah's advice and suggestions positively. He said that there is an agreement with China to build the ring road and informed that the government has also managed the budget to build it in some places from the internal budget.
