Malaysia's employer company 'KL-Kepong Rubber Products' has started an investigation on SOS Manpower Services Pvt. The employer company has promised to stop taking workers from Nepal until the investigation is completed and if they are found to have paid the money, they will return the recruitment fee to the workers.

SOS committed to comply with all policies related to fair admissions to KL-Kepong  An agreement was made with Pekerjan Ukhwah, a Malaysian manpower company that was tasked with bringing workers. But,  KL-Kepong started an investigation after the incident of SOS not practicing fair recruitment contrary to the contract and collecting fees from the workers was publicized.

Danduraj Ghimir, director general of the department, told Kantipur that the department has also proceeded with the investigation process on this issue. is

'It was seen that money was collected from 75 people. This incident came out after 5 of them revolted. We have been instructed to return all the money and send workers at zero cost. Further investigation is underway, said Ghimir, director general of the department.

The manpower company also canceled the work permit of 5 workers who were not ready to pay the amount. The Foreign Employment Office has been given the right to cancel the work permit. Without the consent of the worker, labor cannot be canceled. The labor permit that had been issued was canceled in agreement between the manpower and the employees. It was made public that SOS recruited workers using local agents and collected 260,000 rupees per person.

KL-Kepong Rubber Products has stated that it has taken the issue of not practicing a fair recruitment process very seriously. KL-Kepong River's parent company, Kuala Lumpur Kepong Bhd also issued a notification on Monday and promised to strictly implement the zero cost policy of workers related to recruitment.        

"We will not condone the recruitment fee or the fee related to it at any stage of the worker recruitment process," the release said, "We have assigned a third party to conduct an independent investigation." All investigations are carried out impartially. If found guilty, we will cancel the contract.'
