The municipal basic hospital building of Doti, which was laid three years ago, has fallen into disrepair. The hospital building has been left stranded after the construction companies have made various excuses for collecting lakhs of rupees.

Municipalities have signed an agreement for the construction of 7 hospital buildings with an investment of 685 million rupees in Doti. The contractors have already realized the advance amount of Rs. Durga Ojha, president of Jorayal Rural Municipality, said that the contractor companies have been ignoring the frequent requests of the municipalities. He complains that the progress of the work has not progressed even though some municipal heads have warned that the contractor will be blacklisted.

Out of 9 of Doti, 7 local levels namely KI Singh, Zorayal, Sayal, Badikedar, Bogtan Foodsil, East Chowki Rural Municipality and Shikhar Municipality laid the foundation stone for the construction of basic hospital building in November 2077. Apart from East Chowki, work is still incomplete in 6 municipalities. They have been arguing that they could not move forward. There is no field anywhere according to the contract, it seems different that one should be built somewhere in Stimate,' said Ghanshyam Pathak, president of construction business association Doti, 'due to the weakness of the municipality, the work has not progressed due to the increased financial burden on the construction business.'

An agreement was signed with Dhulikhel LB & AB Jayashree Balaji JV on October 4, 2078 for the construction of a 10-bed basic hospital building in Badikedar Rural Municipality. According to the agreement, the construction work of the building was supposed to be completed on 29 November 2079, but the building is still incomplete. The term of the contract has been extended until June 2081, according to the rural municipality.

The condition of the 10-bed hospital building to be built in KI Singh Rural Municipality is also the same. Village Chairman Lokendra Bahadur Shahi said that the construction company, which has not been in contact for a long time, came and resumed work only a week ago.

The plight of the building said to be constructed in Sayal Rural Municipality is also the same. The municipality has informed that only five percent of the building, which should be completed on July 30, 2081, has been completed so far. TDR Construction Pvt Ltd got the contract for the construction of the 10-bed building which is being constructed near the village health post. The rural municipality has informed that the contract was signed on 30th July 2078 to construct the building for 84.46 million 34 thousand including VAT.
