Kantipur journalist Narayan Kilambu has been honored with the ‘Harilal–Shreelaxmi Memorial Journalism Award’.
Kantipur journalist Kilambu was awarded on the occasion of the fifth anniversary and twelfth general assembly of the Newa: Journalists National Association. He was presented with a certificate of honor and a cash prize of 10,000 rupees by Member of the House of Representatives Madan Krishna Shrestha.
He was given the award in recognition of his contribution to the preservation of Bhaktapur’s art, culture, and heritage, as well as to the country’s education sector. The award was established by National News Agency (RSS) photojournalist Ratna Krishna Shrestha in memory of his parents.
Speaking at the program, MP Shrestha said that in a democracy, it is a constitutional right to preserve and promote one’s own ethnicity, festivals, religion, celebrations, language, and culture.
