Police have arrested 24 Bangladeshi nationals who were living in Nepal illegally despite their tourist visas having expired and without passports.
A team deployed from Police Circle Swayambhu arrested them while they were working in a garment factory in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-15, Dallu, Sitapaila and other areas.
According to SP Pawan Bhattarai, spokesperson of District Police Range Kathmandu, the arrested Bangladeshi nationals had entered Nepal at different times. Preliminary investigation has revealed that some of them did not have permanent identity documents or passports and some of them were living in Nepal even after their tourist visas had expired.
Police said that they have been sent to the Immigration Department, Kalikasthan for further action.
