Police have launched an investigation into the death of 18-year-old Aryan Singh, a class 12 student of DAV College in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur.

The Lalitpur police have started investigating the cause of death of Singh, a student who jumped from the fourth floor of the college, using digital forensic examination of his mobile phone, CCTV, and statements of friends. According to the police, Singh, who fell from the roof of the college building on Monday afternoon, was taken to Sumeru City Hospital. Police say he died during treatment.

According to SP Gautam Mishra of the District Police Range, Lalitpur, a suicide note in his name has also been found. ‘In it, he has expressed despair about life, his father also passed away some time ago,’ he told Kantipur, ‘We are checking his mobile phone to verify more things.’

According to the police, no one else was present at the scene of the incident except him. The police have also started preparing to examine the letters written on the paper.

A family member has said that he was stressed when he failed an exam at school. The police have sent the body for postmortem.
