A person has been arrested on charges of abusing a child studying at the Bhaktivedanta Gurukul run by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) in Budhanilkantha.
The arrested person is Suraj Krishna Shrestha, SP Pawan Bhattarai of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, told Kantipur. He said that he has been kept in the custody of the District Police Range, Kathmandu for five days.
'A complaint was filed by the family of a child regarding an offence against the Children's Act,' he said, 'The arrest was made in the course of investigation.'
The victim has also accused the child of being physically and mentally tortured at the Gurukul.
