The Narcotics Control Bureau has arrested a foreign national who had swallowed cocaine. After engaging in suspicious activities, 43-year-old Amadou Sar from Senegal was defecated and cocaine was removed, said SSP Subash Bohora of the Narcotics Control Bureau.
According to him, he was taken into custody on July 26 through Qatar Airways during the profiling and monitoring of foreign nationals arriving in Kathmandu via international flights. He arrived in Kathmandu from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia via Doha, and was further examined with the help of his doctor. In the process, 60 capsules were recovered.
When a team of the bureau searched a hotel in Kathmandu Metropolitan City-26, 16 plastic-coated cocaine capsules that he had swallowed through his mouth and hidden in his stomach were also found. According to the police, 1 kg 500 grams of cocaine was recovered from a total of 76 capsules.
During further investigation into the incident, it was revealed that he had come to Kathmandu from Delhi, India to buy the cocaine capsules, and two Indian women were also arrested, the bureau said. The arrested persons are Ruby, 36, and Soni, 31, both residents of Khanpur Village in South Delhi, India. They were arrested on July 10 from a hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu, according to the police.
The police have also recovered a passport, two Indian Aadhaar cards and three mobile phones from them.
The bureau said that further investigation is underway against the three arrested persons for drug trafficking.
