Those who tried to commit fraud by forging court letterheads and signatures have been arrested. The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the police has said that they arrested a forced officer from Satungal on Monday for trying to gain financial benefits by forging the letterheads, official signatures and seals of the Kathmandu District Court. According to a press release issued by the CIB on Tuesday, the officer, who is currently living in Kathmandu, had prepared a notice letter regarding the opening of a case in the name of the defendant and re-certification by forging the letterheads of the Kathmandu District Court. He is also accused of trying to commit fraud by using fake documents, stating that after the final decision of the court, an amount of Rs 2.13 crore would be transferred to his bank account and that the court had ordered him to pay Rs 1 lakh 6,500 as service fee. During the investigation, it was revealed that he had forged the signatures of the judge, the chief justice and the branch officer and the seal of the court on the letterheads of the court and brought the fake documents into circulation.
It is said that forged documents were also found during the search of his residence. The CIB has said that it is investigating the official under a document-related offense after obtaining permission from the Kathmandu District Court for further investigation into the incident.
