Madhyapur Thimi Municipality is providing free midday meals to 2,800 children studying in community schools within the municipality.

In collaboration with the World Food Programme and Food for Life, the municipality today formally inaugurated the midday meal distribution program for about 2,800 students from ECD to 5th grade of community schools through the municipality's center kitchen.

The municipality's mayor, Surendra Shrestha, informed that different nutritious meals will be distributed to the students daily under the supervision of a food inspector. The mayor said that healthy, fresh and nutritious meals will be provided to students from ECD to 5th grade of all community schools under Madhyapur Thimi Municipality through the program. The municipality stated that it was conducted with the belief that it will have a positive impact on the nutrition, health and school attendance of children.
