The Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has imposed a fine of Rs 205,000 after expired yogurt was found in the canteen of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority in Singha Durbar.

The fine was imposed after a team of the department found expired yogurt during a monitoring exercise conducted by the department on Wednesday.

The monitoring team directed the manufacturer of the yogurt, Shree Krishna Dairy Firm, to appear within three days with a business registration certificate and a sales bill for the yogurt, the department said.
