The Transport Management Office, Bhaktapur, is distributing 1,200 driver's licenses daily.
According to Janakraj Kafle, an employee of the Transport Office, Bhaktapur, the license distribution work is being done from 9 am to 5 pm. He said that it will take 6 months to distribute the printed licenses.
The office has stated that 48,000 driver's licenses have been printed recently. According to the office, 300 people are passing the driver's license exam every day, so this number is also increasing.
When service recipients line up to get driver's licenses from 6 am, there is a rush at the Transport Management Office, Bhaktapur. After the 175,500 licenses that have been pending for years arrived at the office at once, the employees have been busy with the distribution work.
Acting Chief of the Office, Pawan Kattel, said that he had to work on the license distribution himself, saying that he could not distribute enough licenses due to limited manpower.
He said that the office had to bear the burden of distributing licenses while maintaining the regular work of conducting written exams, practical exams and renewals of driving licenses. Acting Chief Kattel said that 10 people have been assigned to distribute licenses daily by reducing the number of employees who should be deployed for other work.
