While the dozers were being used to remove structures in the Manohara Sukumbasi settlement, residents there blocked the police and the dozers by throwing stones. Thimi Police Circle Chief DSP Nawaraj Dhungana and 14 police officers were injured in the process.

Among the injured, 8 police officers, 5 armed police officers and a journalist were injured, informed SP Surya Bahadur Khadka.

The removal of unauthorized structures there will begin again from 6 am tomorrow, informed Bhaktapur Police Range Chief SP Khadka. He said that the dozers were returned after being blocked while some pucca houses and huts were being demolished by the dozers.

The protesters, who had come out to protest just a short while ago, even burned tires on the road.
