After the government gave a two-day ultimatum to vacate the squatter settlements, goods have also started being moved from Manohara Basti in Bhaktapur. According to police data, more than 50 families have already moved their belongings. 

There are 777 households of squatters in the settlements around Manohara Khola, which borders Bhaktapur and Kathmandu. They have expressed strong dissatisfaction saying that they are being evicted without alternative arrangements after living there for years. 

Bhaktapur Police Range Chief SP Surya Bahadur Khadka said that the population of Manohara's squatter settlements is estimated to be more than 4,000. 

They have demanded that real squatters be managed, employment guaranteed, and action taken against fake squatters after investigation.
