Kathmandu Metropolitan City has given a final three-day deadline to provide integrated passenger vehicle operation services from the new bus park.

The metropolis had issued a public notice last month (Chait 25) requesting that long-distance and short-distance bus services be operated from the new bus park in an integrated manner. Sunita Dangol, the acting chief of the metropolis, informed that the companies that disobeyed the notice have now been given a final deadline of 3 days to come to the integrated system.

She has also directed the chief of the Metropolitan Police Force, Bishnu Prasad Joshi, to form a joint team for monitoring and regulation work in coordination with the Nepal Police on the issues related to ease of transport movement and urban security.

According to the police, an average of 700 public transport vehicles leave Kathmandu daily. Of these, about 350 park outside the bus park, pick up and drop off passengers. An average of 340 vehicles come and go from the bus park daily. Microbus services operate in Pokhara, Nuwakot, Butwal, Syangja, Dang and other districts. The new bus park area is spread over an area of ​​161 ropanis. It can accommodate 750 vehicles.
