Abhay Lama, a police inspector working at the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, has died after being seriously injured in a truck accident while returning home.

While he was returning home from work on Sunday evening, while going to his room towards Futung in Tarakeswar, the motorcycle he was riding (B.P.A. 02-029 Pa 9415) was hit by a truck (B.P.A. 03-001 Kha 1715) coming from the opposite direction.

Lama died on Tuesday afternoon during treatment, informed Nareshraj Subedi, spokesperson of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office. He died during treatment at the B&B Hospital.

Lama suffered serious injuries to his head, arms, legs, face, chest and various parts of his body in the accident.

Lama was recruited as a police constable in 2072 BS. He was selected as an Assistant Police Inspector (ASI) through an open competition and later as a Police Inspector through an open competition.

He was currently working at the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Human Resource Management Branch, Ramshahpath. The truck that hit him and its driver, 38-year-old Aitaram Moktan, a resident of Makawanpur Manahari Rural Municipality-5, are under police custody.
