The Sapanatirtha Mela, which holds religious, cultural and archaeological significance, has begun in Tokha.
The fair, which will be held on the first day of the new year, has seen a large crowd of devotees visiting the Sapanatirtha temple since Tuesday morning. It is believed that visiting the Sapanatirtha temple and bathing in the lake there will cure leprosy.

Ramesh Napit, president of Newa Guthi Tokha, informed that along with the Sapanatirtha fair, the historical Biska Nakha (festival) has also begun in Tokha. Although the Sapanatirtha fair will last for one day today, the Tokha festival will continue until Baisakh 4.
Tokha has declared a holiday on Wednesday, Baisakh 2, and on Baisakh 3 and 4 in Ward No. 2 and 3 of Tokha Municipality on the occasion of the festival.
