Traffic police inspector seriously injured in truck collision

Abhay Lama, a police inspector working at the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, has been seriously injured in a truck accident.

While he was going to his room towards Futunga after finishing his office work on Sunday evening, the motorcycle he was riding, bearing the number Ba.Pro. 02-029 Pa 9415, was hit by a truck, bearing the number Ba.Pro. 03-001 Kha 1715, coming from the opposite direction, informed Naresh Raj Subedi, spokesperson of the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office.

After the accident, he was immediately taken to the Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj and then sent to the B&B Hospital for further treatment, informed Subedi.

The police have taken the truck and the driver, 38-year-old Aitaram Moktan, a resident of Makawanpur Manahari Rural Municipality-5, under control.

The injured Lama has suffered serious injuries to his head, limbs, face, chest and various parts of his body and his condition is critical, the hospital said.

Lama was recruited as a police constable in 2072 BS. He has been serving as an Assistant Police Inspector (ASI) through open competition and later as a Police Inspector through open competition.

He is currently working at the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, Human Resource Management Branch, Ramshahpath.
