Nepal Police have arrested two hundi traders with 1.16 crore rupees in cash.

A team of the District Police Range Kathmandu arrested Sagar Giri, 28, of Nagarjuna Municipality-8, Bhimdhunga, Kathmandu, and Pramod Prasad Dhital, 28, of the same, and made them public on Monday.

The range's spokesperson, Superintendent of Police Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, said that they were arrested based on information that they were dealing in intangible currency.

Three checkbooks, checks worth 2.73 million rupees drawn in the name of various people, four ATMs of various banks, one citizenship card, two four-wheelers, one two-wheeler, and three vehicle registration books were recovered from the arrested persons, he said.

Similarly, six mobile phones of various companies, 31 SIM cards of Ncell and NTC, and one computer have been seized. Spokesperson Bhattarai informed that the two arrested persons have been remanded for five days by the Kathmandu District Court and are being investigated.
