On the occasion of the 25th anniversary and silver jubilee of the Armed Police Force of Nepal, the 'IG AFP Appreciation' has been awarded to Armed Police personnel of various ranks and levels who have performed excellently.

The award was given at a special program organized in Kathmandu to employees who have made significant contributions to achieving the goals and objectives of the organization. This year, a total of 156 people from all over the country have been awarded the award, according to the Armed Police Force.

The award was selected in the previous month and was presented on Monday. On this occasion, Armed Police Inspector Darshan Basnet, who played a significant role during the protests held in Bhaktapur district last Bhadra, was also honored.

He had tried to vandalize and set fire to the Armed Police Battalion in Bhaktapur during the Gen-G protests held on Bhadra 23 and 24, 2082 BS.

In that sensitive situation, Inspector Basnet was praised for playing a significant role in controlling violent activities by calmly explaining to the agitated crowd in accordance with the principle of minimum use of force.

Armed Police Inspector Basnet is currently working at the Tribhuvan International Airport Security Base, Gaucharan, Kathmandu.
