Police have arrested Shanti Tiwari of Nawalparasi (Bardaghat-Susta East) in a meter-billing (improper transaction) case.
According to SP Pawan Bhattarai, spokesperson of the District Police Range, Kathmandu, Tiwari was arrested while investigating the crime of improper transaction based on the complaint filed by the victims.
The police said that the investigation was initiated after the victims filed a complaint alleging financial exploitation by taking loans at unfair interest rates. Tiwari was taken into custody during the same investigation.
Police said that further investigation is underway against him in the crime of improper transaction (meter-billing).
