The District Police Range Kathmandu has bid farewell to the election police under the Nepal Police deployed in Kathmandu for the recently concluded House of Representatives elections.

The 3,854 election police deployed in Kathmandu were bid farewell in separate programs from 14 police circles in the district.

Presenting them with certificates of appreciation at the farewell program, District Police Range Kathmandu Chief SSP Ramesh Thapa praised the work done during the election period. He said that he expects to receive assistance in crime control and peace and security not only during the election but also in the coming days.

The group, which was earlier known as the ‘Field Police’, has been renamed the ‘Election Police’ this time.
