The Kathmandu Metropolitan City Environmental Management Department has prohibited unauthorized persons from entering the Bancharedanda sanitary landfill site in Nuwakot.
The Metropolitan City has banned the entry of unauthorized persons after the entry of unauthorized collectors and other unauthorized persons into the waste disposal site created a situation that created a health and human risk.
The final management of solid waste from 24 local levels, including Kathmandu Metropolitan City, is carried out at the Bancharedanda Sanitary Landfill Site. Since heavy vehicles (dozers, excavators, loaders, jets, trippers, etc.) used daily during waste disposal are constantly in motion, the presence of unauthorized persons can cause accidents, so the Metropolitan City has stated that unauthorized entry into the landfill site premises has been completely prohibited from today. The Metropolitan City has also warned that action will be taken as per the prevailing law if anyone tries to enter by force.
